Early access · DayZ first
Run game servers on your own hardware. Manage them from anywhere.
Playnostic is game server management for DayZ communities. One agent turns any Windows or Linux machine into managed servers, with no admin ports to open, RCon that never touches the internet, and every log line turned into player history you can search.

What’s different
Game server management, rebuilt from the agent up
Most admin tools sit in the cloud and reach into your server. Playnostic runs on it, so it’s quicker, safer and keeps working when the cloud doesn’t.
-
No admin ports to open
The agent makes one outbound connection on port 443, so you can manage servers from anywhere, even behind a home router, NAT or CGNAT. Players join on your game’s usual ports; nothing extra is exposed for admin.
-
RCon stays on your machine
Cloud admin tools usually need your RCon port open to the internet. Playnostic talks to RCon on
127.0.0.1, checks every command against a five-minute token on your host, and never sends RCon passwords to the cloud. -
Updates land before the restart
New game and Workshop mod builds download ahead of time and swap in at your next scheduled restart. Hold an update until your mods catch up, pin a build for testing, or roll back with one restart.
-
Keeps running without the cloud
Schedules, restarts, priority sync and log collection run in the agent. If our cloud goes offline, your servers carry on and the desktop app still connects over your network. Agent updates never restart a running game server.
-
Priority, whitelist and bans kept in sync
Grant priority until 1 December or ban a player across a server group, and Playnostic writes
priority.txt,whitelist.txtand the ban files for you. Hand edits are flagged as drift, never silently overwritten. -
One history for every player
Steam64, BattlEye GUID and Bohemia ID resolve to one player across all your servers. Admin, script and BattlEye logs are archived and turned into searchable connects, kills and chat, visible only to your community.
How it works
From a spare PC to managed servers in minutes
-
Install the agent
Install the Playnostic Control desktop app and let it set up the agent: one small program that runs as a Windows service or a Linux systemd unit, and keeps your servers running when the app is closed.
-
Add your servers
Choose DayZ stable or experimental, pick your Workshop mods and set a restart schedule. Mod keys, load order and launch parameters are handled for you.
-
Manage from anywhere
Open the live console, grant priority or ban a player from the desktop app or your browser. Alerts reach your Discord when a server crashes, a restart fails or a mod update lands.
Who it’s for
One platform for communities, networks and hosts
The same agent and player history power every plan, so a single server can grow into a network without changing tools.
-
Communities
- Installs, mods and restart schedules in one place
- Priority queue, whitelist and bans
- Public server pages and Discord alerts
-
Networks
- Many servers and communities under one organisation
- Staff roles scoped to server groups
- Opt-in shared ban lists and analytics across them all
-
Hosting providers
- Provisioning API, white label and custom domains
- One isolated agent per customer on shared machines
- UK or EU data residency
What is Playnostic?
Playnostic is a game server management platform. A small agent on your own Windows or Linux machine installs, updates and supervises your game servers, and you manage them from the Playnostic Control desktop app or your browser.
Which games does Playnostic support?
DayZ on PC comes first, in both stable and experimental editions. Each game is a separate module, so new titles join the same app, player history and permissions. Tell us which game you want next when you join the waitlist. Console DayZ servers can’t run on your own hardware, so they aren’t supported.
Do I need to open ports on my router?
Not for management. The agent connects out on port 443, so it works behind home routers, NAT and CGNAT, and RCon is never exposed to the internet. Players still join on your game’s usual ports, as they do today.
Does Playnostic host game servers?
No. Playnostic manages servers on hardware you already have, from a spare PC to a rack of dedicated machines. Hosting providers can use it to manage their customers’ servers.
What happens if Playnostic’s cloud goes offline?
Your servers keep running. Scheduled restarts, priority sync and log collection carry on in the agent, the desktop app still connects over your local network, and logs upload once the connection is back.
Can I use Playnostic without a cloud account?
Yes. Local-only mode runs the agent and desktop app with their own admin accounts and no cloud sign-up. Remote access, log history and the web portal use Playnostic Cloud.
When does Playnostic launch, and what will it cost?
Early access opens to DayZ design-partner communities first, then widens. Pricing isn’t final yet. Waitlist members hear about both before anyone else.
